ALE dE VRIES The start of Ale's musical career is as obscure as his native country and the pronunciation of his first name. Word has it that he antagonized a piano teacher for two years before starting to bang drums in a marching band, eventually playing with Europe's leading competitive drum corps, and taking drum set lessons from age 13 onwards. In college, he played in a successful, relatively sober cover band. His 2008 move to NY as an expat for a publishing firm was obviously a cover for his true mission: to join The Hillary Step and rock the world's socks off.
